DORIAN GOTO STONE

Dorian Goto Stone is an award-winning bilingual writer, director, editor and producer working in film, video and live-action 180/360 virtual reality in the U.S. and Japan. He began his film career in NYC where he shot segments for television, directed and produced corporate videos, short films, music videos and theatre. He has received training in Meisner and Actor's Studio methodology and works closely with actors when developing their roles. 

Recent accolades include winning the short film category at Bondi International Screenplay Contest (2023) with Unknown, a sci-fi screenplay based on the play of the same name by Julian Koike; mutiple award wins for GEIMU (2021), a VR180 live-action sci-fi horror film, which he wrote in Japanese and directed, and which was filmed in Japan. GEIMU has won 9 awards including the Best VR Film Award at the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction and Supernatural Film Festival in NYC (2021). 

From 2012 - 2018, he launched and ran YouTube Space Tokyo (Google), where he set up a comprehensive production environment and designed education programs that helped hundreds of creators per year elevate their video skills. He executive produced programs that brought together major IP holders including movie companies that collaborated with creators and which have resulted in over one billion organic views on YouTube.

Born and raised in NYC, Dorian spent many summers of his childhood in Japan, and he has lived and worked there for over 15 years, collectively. 

ドリアン 後藤 ストーンは複数の賞を獲得したアメリカと日本で活動しているバイリンガル映像ディレクター。監督の他に脚本、編集とプロデュースを手掛けている。映像のキャリアをNYCで初め、テレビ番組のカメラマン、PVや短編映画の監督、そして小劇場の演出家もされました。マイズナーやアクターズスタジオのメソッドのトレーニングも受けていて、役者に寄り添ったディレクションをします。最近は360・180度の実写映像制作もしている。

短編脚本「Unknown」が​2023年度のBondi 国際脚本コンペで短編部門で優勝した。小池樹里杏の同名の演劇がベースとなります。
脚本・監督・編集・プロデュースした実写VR180度短編映画「GEIMU」 (2021)はPhilip K. Dick Science Fiction and Supernatural Film Festival 2021 含めて9つの国際・国内映画祭でアワードを受賞した。

2012〜2018年 グーグルで YouTube Space Tokyo の立ち上げと運営をし、日本そして世界のトップクリエイターを様々な形で支援と育成をした。大手映画会社とタイアップした企画や様々なエグゼクティブプロデュースをしたプログラムに参加したクリエイターの動画は10億ビューを超える。

ドリアンはニューヨークで生まれ育ち、幼年はよく日本で夏休みを過ごし、​大学卒業してから合計15年以上日本で働いています。
